In 2006, Family Healthcare, Inc. provided medical care to 15,498 patients. A Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Service Section 330 Community/Migrant Health Center grant supports access to primary care services for the uninsured, underinsured and indigent through subsidizing a sliding fee scale based on the individual's ability to pay. Ohio Department of Healthy Child and Family Health Services grants enhance comprehensive perinatal and pediatric services by funding case managers and nutritionists in addition to specialized nursing staff.

Community Education and Outreach

Participating in activities to improve the health status of the community is part of the Family Healthcare mission. To that end, FHI has provided education and outreach including health fairs, school screenings, senior citizen programs, and classroom projects. These activities are available to approximately 100,000 residents providing information to assist them.

Medical Education

Community health centers strive to increase access to health care by promoting mentoring opportunities for students who are interested in health careers in under served ares. FHI staff have worked with students from multiple disciplines including nursing, medical school and residency, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and social services.
